TOM Credits

The very first original TOM was developed for SOPL II by David Archibald (DodgyDave).

The original TOM was designed to simply make race entries easier for the race secretary to manage.

Perhaps the biggest leap forward for TOM was the ability to get text extract files from the Construction Kit race engine.  This meant that race results no longer needed to be entered manually and other information (handicap, maiden status etc) could be worked out from information stored in the database.  Big ups to the game developer, Mark Loveday, for making that happen.

The advent of multi-league racing (UKRA IX, USRA I, and NHC I) saw big changes for TOM with Dave Fuller (DownUnder Stables) completely rewriting TOM 7.

In Season 10 (UKRA X, USRA II, and NHC II) a number of changes happened and TOM moved here to hopefully its final site.  Improvements continue to be made to TOM 8 by Colm O'Dea (colmodea) and DD.

TOM is developed in PHP 5 with a MySQL backend.  No animals were harmed in the production of TOM (they ran too fast and I couldn't grab hold of them!)
