Eligibility for Handicaps
Grade 1 Handicap
- Minimum rating for eligibility = 100
- Maximum rating for eligibility = 130
 
Grade 2 Handicap
- Minimum rating for eligibility = 70
- Maximum rating for eligibility = 100
 
Grade 3 Handicap
- Minimum rating for eligibility = 60
- Maximum rating for eligibility = 90
 
Graded Handicaps - In the UK and Ireland, handicaps form the backbone in racing, and tend to attract a lower standard of horse, for most races, but with a collection of higher prestige events like the Cambridgeshire, for example.  In the US they have many Graded handicaps, that are held with the same prestige as their equal weight graded counterpart.  So, don't be fooled by the word handicap.  A G1, G2 or G3 Handicap win, is just as prestigeous, so, if you have a horse that meets the criterea, enter it!!
