League Overview
This section provides an overview of SOPL (the Starters Orders Pro League).
Since 2008, SOPL has grown to encompass three leagues:
- UKRA (UK Racing Association) based largely but note solely on UK racing
- USRA (US Racing Association) based on the US racing scene
- NHC (National Hunt Club) based on the UK and Irish jumping season

Each league runs concurrently over a number of weeks (currently 17).
When you register, you select a primary ("home") league which is your main stable. However, you can also operate stables in each of the other leagues.
All your race administration tasks (race nominations etc) are handled by TOM. Later sections of this manual explain how to use TOM.
Donate and Draft
Prior to the start of each season, the SOPL runs a Donate and Draft programme.
This provides an opportunity for new and emerging trainers to select horses donated by leading trainers.
